Organization of the Week: Warren County Historical & Genealogical Society

Every Monday, I highlight a non-profit related to history or the arts, a historical society, preservation group or friends group whose main objective is to promote the historical and artistic history of New Jersey.

This week, I am featuring the Warren County Historical & Genealogical Society. Founded in 1931, the Warren County Historical & Genealogical Society was founded on the premise to preserve the history of Warren County and protect its historic sites from all types of encroachments. Since then, the Society has promoted the collection, preservation, and dissemination of Warren County's history.

The Society maintains a museum in an 18148 Federal brick townhouse in the Belvidere Historic District for the exhibition of county artifacts and memorabilia as well as a resource center for public education and research including genealogy. The Society holds various tours and lectures throughout the year on various subjects.

The Warren County Historical & Genealogical Society relies on memberships, fundraising, and countless volunteers to continue its mission. For more information on programs, special events, and exhibits hosted by Warren County Historical & Genealogical Society or to become a member or volunteer, please call 908-475-4246 or stop in on a Sunday afternoon between 2:00 and 4:00 pm.

If you are a member of a non-profit organization or know of one that you would like to see featured on this site, please let us know in the comments or send an e-mail to kelly@thehistorygirl.com.
